Any given Thursday: Baby stuffs

You know.. I’m so into baby stuffs right now, like nursery decorations, clothes, toys, whatever... I just wonder where that came from??!! Oh right, I’m growing a little baby myself! :) I’ve always thought baby’s were cute, even kids...since that’s prob. why I decided to work with them. But now-a-days newborn baby’s are EVEN CUTER. Can you imagine, well I can!! Yesterday one of the moms at daycare came to pick her son and she brought her 5 weeks old baby girl with her.. . I think she thought I was nuts, cause as soon as the she started crying, I pick her from her stroller and started cuddling with her... I was like, ‘in love for the first time’ !! haha But luckily I saw, that the mom was ok with it and saw she was thinking..’ it’s probably the hormones!’ LOL

Today marks 18 weeks and here’s what they say about the development about our little Dot...

Your Pregnancy: Week 18

Your baby's ears are now facing forward and are completely formed so she can actually hear you talking now. You don't need to abandon your potty mouth just yet, but you might want to start thinking about it! Other highlights this week:
This week is also the beginning of ossification. And while that sounds like some long and involved paperwork you'll have to fill out, it's really a fancy medical term for the hardening of your baby's miniature bones. And that's a good thing.
Your baby's nerves are making more and more complex connections. Her sense of smell, taste, sight and hearing are all developing. A substance called myelin, which makes nerve connections travel faster, is now coating your baby's nerves.
Your baby now weighs between 5 and 7 ounces and is about 5½ inches long—about the size of a pickle from the corner deli. (You're familiar with pickles, right? Your regular accompaniment to a big bowl of ice cream?)

---- NOTICING the fact they’re talking about a SHE and ‘HER sense’... Does this mean it’s going to be a girl??!! hihi. Well according to my, my dad’s & my cousins feelings... who actually got it right most of the times, we think it IS A GIRL! But we’re not going to find out till August 3rd! Yeaah, my guy finally (or I probably convinced him, we just needed to know! LOL) decided he wants to know the sexe of the baby... But we did decided to keep it between the two of us (Like I can??!! LOL), but yeah that’s the deal... I can tell my BFF, cause a girl just has to tell someone, right?

Now onto the baby stuffs...
I’ve got tons of ideas to decorate the nursery (babyroom), but there’s too much to choose from, it’s getting hard. But before I’m going to make a final decision on the theme and such, I want to know what the sexe of the baby will be... And of course, we still need to find a new house to make the nursery in. But I’m sure we’ll manage and if not, we’ll stay here for a while longer! *sigh*

Wall stickers... Are defenitly my favorites when decoratiing the nursery...or really any part of our house. You can find these in any color, any theme, any size and I think they are truly adorable to place on the nursery wall. Some exsamples I truly love (with links)...

These are pretty particular for Boys or Girls, which are so cute, but then these are probably ones, you’ll get enough of easily... But I also love these simple, more natury, more stylish ones... and you can pick out the colors for like the birds, leaves & trees yourself...

I love the blossom trees, but also love flowery ones... big tress with leaves and such. I’ll tell you it’s hard to pick just one. But maybe, since the plan is to move anyways... I’ll get different ones, including ones for our bedroom :)

Then there’s pretty art prints, patterned wallpapers and what about these cute mobile’s...Made with paper or felt... available in different themes like these owl’s, hearts, birds, butterflies and much more....

I found these on Etsy.com... That site is truly inspiring when it comes to DIY projects. I mean, don’t go there to copy-cat brilliant ideas these people have. But it’s a great inspiration for making anything. And most things aren’t that expensive either and it saves tons of time when people already done it for you, right??!! :)

I’m still here...

  and we’re both alive & kicking. Well the baby isn’t kicking yet, but I know it’s doing great! I’m 17 weeks pregnant and starting to feel lots better and got more energy...Although I have to say the hot weather here (and then there’s even a heatwave on it’s way) isn’t making it better right now, but I guess everyone here suffers from that!

But other then that I feel pretty and good and soooo relaxed at the moment. Especially since we just got back from a week vacation in the Belgian Ardennes... If you’re ever there, relax & please go sniffing up the beautiful nature there...the mountains & everything else nature created for us. I mean it’s breathtaking and it makes just feel very relaxed and you’ll even get a little closer to be one with nature! We both loved it...

Oh yeah, these photos were taken with my NEW camera... The Canon EOS 50D, I upgrated from my 400D and I’ll tell you it was time! I had lots of time to try it out during our little vacation and I’m so happy... Although I’m not so happy with photos of me, but well... I’ve got that with every camera I can get my hands on! That’s why I’m always behind the camera, instead of in front! LOL


I decided today to let this blog be ‘just for fun’... I sometimes feel so quilty for neglecting this poor thing, but we made a deal today. Whenever I’ve got something fun to report or just whenever I feel like blogging, you can find me here. And guess what, my sweet bloggie agreed! :)

I do have tons of ideas in my head and going to share lots of things with you... Like if & wether we found the perfect house already, cause well it’s about time we found one that fits us. I mean we’ve been searching to buy our first house for what, 2 years now?? And the houses we saw just weren’t all that. We went looking at one Today and both liked it, but we’ve got another viewing this week, so we’ll see how that goes. Then there’s baby stuff like: decorations for the babyroom, clothes, furniture and everything else I love... And let me prepare you on that. I love lots of things and I’m also a little picky. But luckily my guy knows me and I can sometimes be a little missy perfect, but then when thinking of our savings for the house and such, I might have to deal with a little less for our little Dot... *sigh*

Oh almost forgot... I wanted to close this up, but just have to share one (ok two) tiny things with you before I’m off to relax and enjoy our last week off (till Tuesday that is)... First things first.... Did you hear about the orange madness around here?? Well our Dutch soccer team made it to the Finales of the Soccer world cup in South-Africa and everyone has gone crazy!!! The last time that happened was back in 1974!!! Yeah waaay too long ago... But we’ve got an awsome team right now and tonight we’ll found out who our rival is going to be... Spain or Germany. Well honestly any of these will be fine, cause I know (actually just hoping) we will win anyway! hahaha

Now before I’m off to study and see our rival’s soccer game, I wanted to share this fun little video/song with you. Emma stone will be playing in a new movie soonish and I loved the preview trailer. It’s called: ‘Easy A’... Anyways while looking for new movies I also found this fun little video

and somehow I just love her acting and I wish I was like her... Well I am, but only in the showers! LOL  See it here!

Lots of fun NEWS!!! Awsome NEWS!!!

The sun is out and summer is just around the corner... I can tell you I’m so ready! However there is a slight thing which will keep me from getting a nice, pretty tan and sitting in the sun for too long...........

I’m PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Today I’m exactly 12 weeks!! We had this ultrasound made on Tuesday and I can tell you it was really emotional! We had our first ultrasound at 7 weeks and I can tell you, it did hit me we were pregnant, but the only thing we saw was a little dot. This time we were both in awe when we saw the first glimpse of our little baby. It looked like a little baby and it moved it’s legs & arms. It had me in tears... Ok, well here I go again.... LOL. After we took some shots of our little baby, they let us hear the heartbeat...uhm yeah again, I was in tears! It was so special and it made me realize, that I grow people inside of me! It’s truly amazing and we’re sooo happy!!!!

This week and I’ll tell you it’s probably the hormones, but I cried a lot... Even for the silliest things! But hey, they tell me it’s normal! :) The first 12 weeks went by so fast and other then I’ve been very tired I felt pretty good. No morning sickness or anything like that. I’m so lucky with that! :)

We found out on April 17th and I decided it would be fun to make a pretty pregnancy album. I told the girls from my CT’s and asked designers if anyone was willing to help me out, with making me a pregnancy kit. I made a color palette and within two weeks, I had two stunning kits to make the album with. Both Sandra from fruitlopp sally designs & Jasmin from Jazzmin designs made the kits. Let me show them to you...


Aren’t these beautiful?? I think so anyway!! :) And here are two of the pages I made so far... still got a couple which are half-way done too, but these are ready for my album. I journalled a lot on these, but did it in Dutch of course :)

One of my sweet online friends Ellie, also made me a beautiful page with a lovely poem....


So yeah, I’m going to be a mommy. My due date is: Devember 18th :)

Now on to some other fun stuff... During National scrapbooking day Miss Lizzy from Fizzy pop designs had a fun little challenge. She wanted us to post one of our favorite pages to this thread and of course I did. Today is the yearly summer fair in the town my parents' live and I always go there. There are lots of fun stands who sell things like sunglasses, clothes, jewelry & such... there's music, food, drinks and I always see lots of old friends. I moved from that place like 7 years ago and sometimes I really miss bumping in to old friends, that's why I never miss this fair!

On Sunday we've got our yearly family day (every first sunday in June), which we always look forward to. I started this tradition the year after our grandma passed away... A fun way to still see everyone at least once a year. We've got a big family, since my mom comes from a family with 9 kids. This is the fifth year and every year some else else in charge of the family day. This year it's my aunts turn and it's always a secret what we're going to do, but somehow we always figure it out... except for this year. I've got an idea though, but she's very sneaky! LOL... So we'll see!! But I know it's going to be fun gathering with the whole family...

Missed me?? I know you did!!

Cause well, I’ve been a bad blogger, a slacker, a girl missing in action... call it what you like, cause I feel pretty quilty! hehe... But show me that smile, cause I’m here now! I’ve been a little missing in action in digiland too, I’ve been real busy and just well a way too tired to sit down and scrap when I get home from work and just want to relax! I think I’ve scrapped like 6 pages in the past 4 weeks or so... and to be honest I’m not missing it, which is a bit weird though! LOL

Anyways, there’s some fun news in digiland... I’m not sure how long you’ve been around in the digiscrap world, but maybe you remember Miss Micheline Martin?? Well I used to be on her creative team and then I started making QP albums for her, which was so fun and she’s really such a sweetheart! I think like over a year ago she announced the fact she was going to quit designing and I was really soooo sad... But she’s back in bizz and I’m loving it. She kept my email-adress & from some other ladies from her old team and asked us to create pages for her again. I’m loving it so far and she’s really amazing. Micheline is selling her goodies @ Catscrap

‘Any given Thursday’ – Getting ready for...

 

 

 

{inter} National Scrapbook Day!!! I’ve been busy creating a cute Freebie for you for the Mscraps blogtrain and well I’ve been scrapping like a mad woman!! Both Mscraps & After five designs are adding some fabulous new designers to their stores and there’s too much pretty stuff to scrap with... Really I can’t hardly pick and want to use it all! But wel...I’m kind of running out of time here! I still have got lots to do, like preparing the big blogpost for Mscraps and then I need to get ALL those new pages into my gallery’s and of course I want to shop, cause there are some awsome digi-sales out there!

On top of that... Tomorrow it’s Queensday here in The Netherlands and the fun starts tonight already!! We planned to go to Utrecht tonight cause there’s the biggest flea-market..but to be honest, that’s NOT why were going! There are lots of stages and the music rocks. Just like last year we planned to go to 'the ‘domplein’ to enjoy ‘Veronica’s’ awsome 80’s & 90’s music and I can’t wait. Although I hope I can keep up...hehe. But first... I’ve got to work from 13PM till 17.45PM and well, I’m running out of time!

Fun stuff coming up...

Well I guess you noticed that I missed my ‘Any given Thursday’... Well a lot of things happened in our pretty sweet life the past 2 weeks. Things that weren’t planned and on top of that it’s been very busy work & sports related, but other then that we’re doing great! But good things are coming our way and we’re pretty excited!

I wanted to share some new goodies out in digiland and from my creative teams, but that has to wait. Yesterday I babysitted our sweet 2nd cousin Quinn (turning 3 in Sept.) and the boy, really is the cutest. He behaved so well and was just sweet for his ‘auntie’. My cousin Sylvia is a single child, so she named us en my bro & his GF to aunts & uncles and I like it! We went to the petting zoo and he loved it... when we got back we made my guy a yummy lunch and Quinn was so proud. After we took a little nap together we went to my parents and enjoyed sitting in the sun in the backyard! It was a beautiful day and they say today is going to be another gorgeous & sunny day! :) here are two of my fav. photos... Haven’t processed these yet...straight out of my camera!

Keep watching my blog as I’m going to share lots of fun news about next weekend, cause it’s my favorite digiscrapping weekend of all. It’s ‘International scrapbooking day’!!!! And there are going to be tons of fun things happening in digiland and some awsome sales of course. So be on the look-out for that!

‘Any given Thursday’ photo processing

Hey there ladies & gents... It’s Thursday again and today I want to share some tips and ideas about processing your photos and fun actions & textures to help you do that.

I have several programs to process my photos... First I have my ACDSee photomanager pro 3. I have instant acces to all my photos after I imported them to my computer (or to an EHD in my case). You can set properties & categorize your photos... The great thing about ACDSee’s photo manager is the fact you can also process RAW images. ACDSee’s photo manager is the program where I do the basic editing like: editing shadow/highlights, boost colors, fix exposure, white balance & tones curves.

When I’m done with the basic processing, I’ve got different kinds of programs & tools to use to give my photos that little extra. I’ve got Adobe’s lightroom 2 and lots awsome presets. I know there are tons of free presets out there and google does the trick for you! :) But I have to be honest and say that I haven’t used my lightroom for months, now that I’m the proud owner of...

Adobe photoshop CS4!! I only purchased this software for my photo processing since I saw so many gorgeous photos processed in this program and the presets which are available in digiland are A-MA-ZING! I’m truly in love with this program combined with, especially Sarah’s – My 4 hens photography actions. They truly rock... Let me show you some of my favorite sets...

Then Sarah’s also got a few awsome freebies here & here. I’ll tell you, once you’re tried them you’re going to be hooked!!! She also has two awsome sets called: the photographers tool box I & II. Oh and I heard some great news about the fact Sarah is going to make some yummy textures too... Here are a few fun before and after shots using sarah’s actions... Simply open the photo and run the action you like.
 

Textures are another thing now-a-days I can’t stop playing with... Especially the ones from the Flora bella Collection. They give your photo and wondering textured feel and it gives the photo something special. Open the photo and add any of the textures to your photo... Now play with the edit mode and try different settings like: overlay, hard light/soft light and then play with the opacity till you think it’s perfect! And really, that’s all there’s to it! Here are a few of the photos I did this week...and the before & after pics 
 
Then there’s one more lady who brilliantly makes beautiful textures & PS actions. Obviously I thought this sweet woman was on a break, cause I really missed her daily photos for project 365 last year. And I’m sure you’ve heard of the name: Annie Manning, if you’ve been around in digiland for a while. Well, I recently discovered that she’s made some beautiful action & texture sets and it’s a shame I haven’t purchased or even tried some of them. I’ve always been a BIG fan of anything she does and no clue how I missed this! She’s got a beautiful site : Paint the moon – photography & photographer’s tools, you have to check it out!

So these are the basics on how I edit my photos... Please let me know if you have any questions or ideas for a fun tutorial or something, cause I would love to go deeper into this processing thing for you! For fun, here’s one more exsample of a photo I took today...processied with just a simple sun flare...


Oh I almost forgot... Today I found out about a fabulous new website, made and developed by some of my sweet digi-friends. You can clearly see I’ve been out of the loop around here for months, cause I have no idea how I missed this! Anyways... the site is called: VanillaBees and the site is just awsome. It is a fun and beautiful website... They share yummy recipes, ideas and tips for gardening, ideas for fun family days and they host some fun challenges such as digital scrapbook & photography ones...and they have some awsome give-aways...I lurked their site for hours and I played in one of their photography challenges and therefor I finally (*sigh*) made an Flickr account :)

Blossom & bloom...

Well I told you I would be here this weekend...but obviously I wasn’t! LOL. I’ve been cleaning out the garage, working on my deadline to finish the wedding album went for a long breezy walk in the forrest with my parents and fed my pet...Uhm Doodelle that is, my Pet society cutie...hihi

Anyways I don’t have anything special to share at the moment and already thinking of a fun idea for my ‘Any given Thursday’ blogpost and well my idea list is...empty! LOL... Already you say, well guess so. No really, I do have lots of ideas and I should write them down, don’t worry I will, prob. even tonight while I’m in bed! You know, I always have a blocknote and pen on my bedside table, cause sometimes I a girl can’t sleep at night, cause her head is just way too ful with ideas for cute projects, things she needs to get of her chest and what else... Oh yeah ideas for inspirational blogposts! :)

For now I’m going to leave with some pretty photos of trees & flowers blossoming I took this weekend. This is truly one my fav. seasons and times of the year. When looking around me, all the trees & flowers are starting to come back to life again and I love it...
